News Summary of Collaboration and Shared Services from 26th July 2017

The collaboration agenda for Welsh councils appears to be warming up again, with the Welsh Assembly minister Mark Drakeford telling councils that they “need to work together more, in return for remaining as 22 separate authorities”.

A useful tactic employed in other sectors, has been the clause in new programme grant funding, that it must be delivered in partnership. Most recently, Bluelight innovation fund money has been offered in that context.

That removes several collaborative working barriers. No posts will be made redundant, new innovative collaborative ideas can be developed without threatening the current ways of working, and the partners can gain experience working together and test the strength of their working relationships.

Here is the collaborative working news, and the job opportunities from the last seven days.
